No doubt about it, Catalonia is just perfect for a hiking vacation. Because this region in Spain simply offers the perfect mix of mountains and coast, pine forests, and cliff formats paired with a large amount of sunshine hours per year and relatively mild temperatures all year round.
What you should bring for hiking in Catalonia
Almost all of the hikes on our list occur regardless of weather conditions. So you have to be prepared. Even if the sun shines nearly every day here in Catalonia, there can always be spontaneous changes in the weather.
- wear comfortable shoes in which you can walk well – ideally already broken-in hiking shoes
- comfortable, weatherproof clothing
- Ensure you have enough sun protection (sunscreen, hat, etc.)
- water (especially on warm days, it is crucial to drink plenty)
- don’t forget your sunglasses
- and, of course, your camera/mobile phone for the souvenir snapshots
- In case of rainy weather, bring a rain jacket or rain poncho with you
- Snacks for the way
- Money or credit card for snacks or lunch
